beautiful sketch! i always did that exact same thing you did with the mechanical pencils and paper from the printer...except now pictures are more my thing. fine use of shading.

The detail on her clothing is supurb, and her hair is fantastic. The photo was probably washed out from the light as well, but I would recommend bringing out more detail in the face next time, as well as some of the muscles in the neck and the colar bone. These are just artistic things that make the drawing more vivid and lively, but what you've done is great! Keep up the good work.
Very nice, my favourite part is the eyes and the simple face shading and then the hair. I also like the subdued background... I guess I like a lot of part of the picture! Great!
